Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of PasteBase ("the Service"), operated by Nullbase ApS, Rougsøvej 1, 8940 Randers SV, Denmark (CVR: DK37283681) ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

PasteBase is a hosted paste and snippet manager that allows you to store, organize, and copy text content such as email templates, code snippets, meeting notes, and other reusable text. The Service includes:

• Creating and managing pastes in three editor types (rich text, plain text, and code)
• Organizing pastes by category
• Creating and managing teams with role-based access (Owner, Editor, Member)
• Inviting team members via email
• Generating shareable access links that allow others to view and copy your pastes without an account

2. Accounts

Registration

To use PasteBase, you must create an account with a valid email address. You must verify your email before accessing the Service. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.

Account accuracy

You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep your account information up to date. You may not impersonate another person or use a misleading identity.

One person, one account

Each account is intended for use by a single individual. You may not share your account credentials with others. If you need to collaborate, use the team features instead.

3. Your content

Ownership

You retain full ownership of all content you create, upload, or store in PasteBase. We do not claim any intellectual property rights over your content.

License to us

By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to store, display, and transmit your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service. This license ends when you delete your content or your account.

Shared content

When you share content through teams or shareable access links, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share that content. Team Owners are responsible for the content shared within their teams.

Backups

While we take reasonable measures to protect your data, you are responsible for maintaining your own backups of important content.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to use PasteBase to:

• Store, share, or distribute content that is illegal under applicable law
• Store malware, phishing content, or content designed to harm others
• Infringe on the intellectual property rights of others
• Store sensitive personal data of third parties without their consent (e.g., passwords, financial information, health records)
• Send unsolicited invitations or use the invitation system for spam
• Attempt to access other users' accounts or data without authorization
• Interfere with the operation of the Service or circumvent security measures
• Use the Service for bulk automated storage or as a general-purpose database

We reserve the right to remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Teams and collaboration

Roles and responsibilities

PasteBase offers three team roles:

• Owner — full control over the team, its members, and all team content
• Editor — can create, edit, and delete pastes within the team
• Member — can view and copy pastes within the team

Team Owner responsibilities

Team Owners are responsible for managing their team members and the content shared within their team. Owners must ensure that team members comply with these Terms.

Invitations

When you invite someone to a team, an email invitation is sent on your behalf. Invitations expire after 3 days. You must only invite people who you reasonably expect to want to join your team.

Personal teams

Each user has a personal team that is created automatically upon registration. Personal teams cannot be deleted and are tied to your account.

6. Shareable links

You may generate a personal access link that allows anyone with the URL to view and copy your pastes. You are responsible for who you share this link with. We are not responsible for any consequences of sharing your access link.

7. Service availability

We strive to keep PasteBase available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, or circumstances beyond our control. We are not liable for any loss or damage resulting from service downtime.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:

• The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service
• Our total liability for any claim arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or EUR 100, whichever is greater
• We are not responsible for the content you or other users store in the Service

9. Termination

By you

You may delete your account at any time from your profile settings. Upon deletion, all your personal data and paste content will be permanently removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

By us

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms, if your account is inactive for an extended period, or if we discontinue the Service. Where possible, we will provide reasonable notice before termination.

Effect of termination

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. We may delete your data after termination. Pastes you contributed to shared teams may remain visible to the team but will no longer be attributed to your account. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including limitation of liability, intellectual property, and governing law) will continue to apply.

10. Fair use

PasteBase is designed for storing reusable text snippets. We reserve the right to impose reasonable limits on storage, paste size, or number of pastes if usage significantly exceeds typical patterns. We will notify you before enforcing any such limits.

11. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the Privacy Policy.

12. Disclaimer of warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free of harmful components. We do not review or endorse user content.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you via email or a notice within the Service at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not accept the updated Terms, you may delete your account before the changes take effect.

14. Intellectual property

The PasteBase name, logo, design, and underlying software are the intellectual property of Nullbase ApS. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our branding or trademarks. The Service is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

15. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of Denmark. Any disputes arising from these Terms or the Service shall be resolved in the courts of Denmark. If you are a consumer within the EU, you retain any mandatory protections provided by the consumer laws of your country of residence.

You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform for alternative dispute resolution.

16. General provisions

• Severability — if any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
• Entire agreement — these Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nullbase ApS regarding the Service.
• Waiver — our failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any future enforcement.
• Assignment — you may not transfer your account or rights under these Terms. We may assign our rights in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.
• EU consumer rights — nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any statutory rights that you have as a consumer under EU law. Where these Terms conflict with mandatory consumer protection laws, those laws prevail.
