Create a team
Teams are at the heart of collaboration in PasteBase. A team is a shared workspace where multiple people can access the same collection of pastes. Whether you're setting up a team for your support department, your engineering squad, or your entire company, the process is quick and straightforward.
What is a team?
A team in PasteBase is a container for pastes that can be shared among members. Each team has its own name, its own list of pastes, and its own set of members with assigned roles. Teams keep your pastes organized by group — your support team's canned responses stay separate from your engineering team's code snippets.
How to create a team
To create a new team, click the "Create Team" option in the sidebar or navigation. Give your team a descriptive name — something your members will immediately recognize, like "Customer Support", "Engineering", or "Marketing Team". PasteBase will automatically generate a URL-friendly slug from your team name.
Once created, you'll be set as the team's Owner with full control over settings, members, and pastes.
Naming your team
Choose a team name that clearly identifies the group. Good team names are short, descriptive, and unambiguous:
- "Support" or "Customer Support" — for your support team's canned responses and templates
- "Engineering" — for shared code snippets and configuration templates
- "Sales Outreach" — for email templates and follow-up messages
- "Acme Corp" — for a company-wide shared paste collection
After creating your team
With your team created, you'll want to do two things: add pastes and invite members. You can start creating pastes right away — they'll be visible to anyone you invite later. To bring your colleagues on board, head over to the team settings and invite them by email.
How many teams can I have?
There's no limit to the number of teams you can create or belong to. Many users have their personal team for private pastes plus one or more shared teams for different groups or projects. You can switch between teams using the sidebar.
