Change password

Keeping your PasteBase account secure starts with a strong password. You can change your password at any time from your profile settings. Whether you're updating to a stronger password or you suspect your current one may have been compromised, the process takes just a moment.

How to change your password

Follow these steps to update your password:

Log in to your PasteBase account.
Navigate to your profile settings. You can find this in the sidebar or account menu.
Look for the password change section.
Enter your current password to verify your identity.
Enter your new password and confirm it by typing it again.
Save your changes.

Your new password takes effect immediately. The next time you log in, you'll use the new password.

Choosing a strong password

A good password is your first line of defense. Here are some guidelines:

Make it long — Aim for at least 12 characters. Longer passwords are significantly harder to crack.
Make it unique — Don't reuse a password from another service. If one service is breached, your PasteBase account stays safe.
Mix it up — Use a combination of uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers, and special characters.
Use a password manager — A password manager generates and stores strong, unique passwords for every service. You only need to remember one master password.

Forgot your password?

If you can't remember your current password and can't log in, use the password reset feature on the login page. PasteBase will send a reset link to your registered email address. Click the link, set a new password, and you're back in. Password reset links expire after a limited time for security, so use them promptly.

Staying secure

Beyond your password, keep your account secure by making sure your registered email address is up to date and that you have access to it. Your email is used for password resets and important account notifications, so losing access to it could lock you out of your PasteBase account.
